Abstract Objectives: Sexual assertiveness is defined as a psychosocial feeling about an in-dividual’s personal interpretation of how to express her/her feelings in marital rela-tionships. The present study aimed at investigating the effect of sexual assertiveness education on marital satisfaction and happiness of women referring to Tabriz health centers in 2021. Method: This semi-experimental study was conducted on 66 women of reproduc-tive age, referring to the health centers of Tabriz, Iran. The participants obtained Hulbert sexual assertiveness score less than 33 were randomly assigned into the control and intervention groups. The data were collected using eligibility checklist (inclusion/exclusion criteria), demographic characteristics questionnaire, Halbert Index of Sexual Assertiveness (HISA), Larson sexual satisfaction (LSS), and Mari-tal Happiness Scale (MHS). The educational intervention of HISA was held in three 60-90 minutes sessions. Participants completed HISA, LSS, and MHS ques-tionnaires before and after the intervention. Results: The findings of the present study indicated a significant difference be-tween the mean scores of HISA, LSS, and MHS in the post-intervention stage be-tween the two groups (P=0.001). Conclusion: Given the positive effect of sexual assertiveness education on wom-en’s sexual satisfaction and marital happiness, it is recommended to consider these simple and low-cost educational interventions to improve the mental and sexual sta-tus of women.en_US
