dc.description.abstractThe pattern of drug use in Iran has changed in recent years and has changed from traditional opioids to newer forms and synthetic substances. Also, the pattern of complications and injuries caused by it has changed in all aspects during this period, especially the psychiatric dimension, and medical centers have been faced with a range of disorders caused by these emerging substances. One of the most obvious complications is psychotic disorder caused by substance use and its effect on cognitive functions (memory, attention and psychomotor speed). This study was performed with the aim of one year changes in cognitive function of patients in the first episode of substance induced psychosis. Materials and methods: The study is an analytical-cross-sectional study and the statistical population includes patients with the first episode caused by drug use. 80 patients were selected based on the entry and exit criteria and using a demographic information questionnaire, SCID 5 CV interview, DSM 5 clinical interview, and a paper-pencil packet of cognitive assessment in Persian-speaking subjects (PCAP) at the beginning of hospitalization and evaluated again one year later. were placed. Data were analyzed using SPSS 19 and P-Value <0.05. Results: In the present study, the patients with the first episode caused by drug consumption had weaker abilities in terms of cognitive functions compared to the general population, and after one year, there was a significant improvement in attention and concentration and working memory, but in Executive performance was still lackingen_US
