| dc.description.abstract | Sepsis is a type of inflammation that occurs due to infection and causes symptoms such as fever, increased heart rate and increased breathing rate for the patient. Many doctors use two criteria, Sofa and SIRS, to predict the mortality of sepsis and severe sepsis.
Objective: To compare the predictive value of SOFA score with SIRS for in-hospital mortality in patients with sepsis: a meta-analysis systematic review article.
Method:
In this study, after searching scientific databases and sources such as Elsevier science, proquest, embase, medline, pubmed and scopus, 17 studies were obtained. on sepsis patients, comparing two criteria, sofa and SIRS, and reporting the AUC index, were included in the meta-analysis. By using STATA and CMA softwares, by entering the necessary information for meta-analysis and extracting the demographic and clinical information of the people examined in the studies, the analysis was done through the random model and the REML method. AUC index and confidence interval were used for both Sofa score and SIRS criteria. Common diagrams in meta-analysis, including forest diagram and funnel diagram, were used for meta-analysis and publication bias, respectively. And finally, subgroup analysis and meta-
regression was used to investigate the existing heterogeneity among studies.
Finding:
In this meta-analysis, the overall estimate of AUC for Sofa score criteria is 0.79 with a confidence interval of 0.73-0.84 and for SIRS criteria, its value is 0.67 with a confidence interval of 0.73-0.60. | en_US |
