| dc.description.abstract | Due to the increasing use of surgical techniques in the treatment of scaphoid fractures and also the importance of scaphoid surgery in cases of non-welded and avascular necrosis and considering that Shohada Hospital of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences as a Is the orthopedic reference center in northwestern Iran and the lack of a similar study in the northwestern region of Iran. In the present study, we will investigate the method of Mathoulin surgery in the treatment of Scaphoid Waist with proximal definite AVN.
Materials and Methods: All patients with Scaphoid Waist faracure with proximal definite AVN who referred to Shohada Hospital of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences during 2021 were enrolled in the study and underwent surgery by Mathoulin method. Patients were followed up one week after surgery and 3 weeks after wound examination. Also, patients were followed up and evaluated again 45 days and 90 days after surgery and were studied for graphic and clinical examination. Postoperative pain, fusion duration, range of motion and postoperative movement limit (ROM), hand and finger strength were completed for patients. Finally, the data were entered into SPSS version 22 statistical analysis software, and were statistically analyzed.
Results: In this study, 35 patients were evaluated; Results of pain intensity, flexion, extension, ulnar deviation, radial deviation angles, hand strength, satisfaction with surgery in all patients were significantly associated with improvement (P=0.001); nonunion complication was observed in only 2 patients (5.71%). | en_US |
