Chronic kidney failure is one of the most common diseases in Iran and the world, and in general, this disease is common in societies that have a high health index, due to the increase in life expectancy. The prevalence and incidence of end-stage renal disease is increasing in developed and developing countries, and this brings a great financial burden to health care systems. Therefore, according to the above, the aim of this study is to compare graft survival in kidney transplant recipients over 50 years old and under 50 years old in Imam Rezai Hospital, Tabriz. Patients and methods: After the approval of the Research Council of the Faculty of Medicine of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences and the approval of the Ethics Committee of the Faculty of Medicine, in a retrospective study, all patients who were admitted to Imam Rezai Hospital in Tabriz, affiliated to the University of Medical Sciences and Health Services, in 2019 Tabriz, have undergone kidney transplant were investigated. Results: This study included 74 patients. 50 patients (67.6%) were male and 24 patients (32.4%) were female. The average age of transplant recipients was 40.91±14.20. 47 patients (63.5%) were under 50 years old and 27 patients (36.5%) were 50 years old or older. The number of dead patients was 8 (10.8%) and the number of live cases was 66 patients (89.2%). In 67 patients (90.5%) the left kidney was transplanted and in 7 patients (9.5%) the right kidney was transplanted. The average age of patients in the group of deceased patients, which included 8 patients, was 53.37±9.73, while the average age of the group of living patients (including 66 patients) was 39.40±13.96, which showed a statistically significant difference (p<0.01). Also, 6 patients (22.2%) of patients 50 years or older who underwent transplantation died, while this rate was 4.3% of 2 patients under 50 years of age. From this point of view, there was a statistically significant difference (p=0.01).en_US
