Adherence to diagnostic and treatment covid-19 guideline in outpatient care: viewpoints of medical Interns in Tabriz University of medical sciences
Abstract
Due to hospital beds limitation and widespread Covid19 pandemic, outpatient
diagnostic and therapeutic procedures are one of the requirements of health centers related to Covid19. Necessity of outpatient diagnose and treatment in health
centers are abundant some examples of that are as follow::
1-inadequacy of hospitals facilities to admit all patients
2-nosocomial infection prevention
3-increase efficacy and hospitals operation speed
The Ministry of Health has written the guidelines for outpatient procedures related to Covid19 and due to lack of study in this topic decide to check the level of adherence to diagnostic and treatment covid-19 guidelines in outpatient care viewpoints of medical Interns in Tabriz University of medical sciences.
Materials and Methods:
This study is a cross-sectional study, participants in this study are all
Medical interns that currently doing their internship in Covid19 related departments, the method used in this study is a checklist that has written according to covid19 guideline that published by national Covid19 management headquarters in December 9th 2020. Checklists are given to medical interns, after completing the checklists the data entered to SPSS16 and descriptive statics are reported using the data.
Results:
In this study participated 100 interns who were doing their internship in Covid-19 departments, 48 of them were doing their internship in emergency departments related to Covid-19 and 52 of them were doing it in clinics related to Covid-19, in this study average outpatient Covid-19 guidelines adherence in clinics related to Covid-19 was 26.73 of 29 and in emergency departments was 26.54 of 29 that indicate proper guidelines compliance in both groups.
