dc.description.abstractIntroduction :Adolescent girls’ first menstruation (menarche) is often frightening and harmful since it normally occurs suddenly and unexpectedl. Adolescent girls would lack necessary information and knowledge about menstruation. Not being aware of menstruation and puberty mechanisms, they can face physical, mental and behavioral problems. The logical and intimate relationship between mothers and daughters, especially at the crucial stages of development such as adolescence and puberty, is of great importance. When making a decision on health behavior a daughter is apt to copy her mother’s behavior. Therefore, the reaserch aims to determine the effects of menstural health education programe,using the method of promoting mother-daughter communicative and performance. Methodology:The study was an interventional and prospective-retrospective one studies with a control group. The sample consisted of 190 girls of 12 to 14 years old, all domiciled at Boukan. They were divided into control group and experimental group, having 95 members each. Questionnaires about the adolecent girls’ awareness and performance level of menstural health, PSST, VAS and parent-child relationship. In all tests the level of meaningfulness of less than 0.5 was considered and SPSS-22 software were used to collect information. Findings: The study has shown that there has been an increase in intervention group’s mothers communication skills in copmparison to control groups (P-value: 0.012, Mean: 135.74). Furtheremore, there has been a decrease in girl’s intervention group’s premenstural syndrome symptoms in comparison to control group (P-value: 0.005, Mean: 9.932). Conclusion: According to the results of the study, mother-daughter communication skills improvement and has been used as an effective strategy in school health programs.en_US
