Today, in Muslim countries, especially in Iran, fasting is widely practiced during the month of Ramadan and fasting diets are practiced more widely around the world with different methods and conditions due to the importance of proper nutrition in health. Retinal function In order to function properly, we sought to evaluate the effect of fasting on the retina (macula and optic nerve) by examining the parameters of one of its newest imaging modalities, OCTA. Methods and Materials: This study was performed on 90 eyes of 45 healthy fasting individuals in the month of Ramadan in 2020 and then one month later. Noon with a specific and single meal as breakfast in Ramadan, were evaluated by OCTA Optovue (RTVue XR) version 2018.1.0.43 at the Charity Ophthalmology Hospital in Tabriz. Finally, the data were analyzed with SPSS software. Results:In this study, based on the comparison with Wilcoxon test between the parameters in fasting and other fasting states, a significant difference was observed only in the following parameters P <0.05. inner.retinal.thickness.Foval.OD.AM, inner.retinal.thickness.Foval.OS.AM, inner.retinal.thickness.parafoveal.OD.AM, inner.retinal.thickness.parafoveal.OS.AM, deep. parafoveal.vascular.density.OS.AM, optic.head.nerve.vascular.density.OD.AM, total.retinal.thickness.Foval.OS.PM, inner.retinal.thickness.parafoveal.OD.PM, inner. retinal.thickness.parafoveal.OS.PMen_US
