Today, different methods are used to treat infertility. However, some infectious agents, such as the HPV, directly and indirectly cause infertility in men and the failure of ART. The aim of this study was to investigate the prevalence of HPV and AAV in couples undergoing ART and to investigate the effect of these infections on the parameters involved in couple fertility and ART results. Materials and Methods: In this study, 100 infertile couples were performed in Tabriz. PCR technique was used to detect HPV and AAV infections in men's semen and cervical swabs taken from women. Results: The prevalence of HPV in men and women was 22% and 20%, respectively, and the prevalence of AAV in men and women was 21% and 28%, respectively. 4% of couples were infected with both types of virus simultaneously. Mean sperm cells with abnormal morphology and mean sperm motility were lower in HPV-infected samples and high-risk HPV genotypes than in HPV-negative samples, respectively. Concomitant use of AAV infections in HPV-infected samples had no effect on reducing HPV-negative outcomes on semen samples and sperm cells.en_US
