Breast cancer (the most common cancer in women) is known worldwide (11.6% of all known cancers in the world). Since the pattern of recurrence (systemic, local, regional) and common pathological factors in breast cancer recurrence in patients undergoing mastectomy without radiotherapy have not been studied, so in the present study, the role of these factors and their pattern were investigated. Method: Records available from 15 years ago for 200 patients with breast cancer who underwent modified radical mastectomy (MRM) surgery but had not received radiotherapy and during this period had referred to Shahid Madani Hospital in Tabriz with recurrence. they started studying. Patient data were collected and between groups of patients were evaluated for recurrence type. Results: The only statistically significant finding was the difference in the prevalence of perineural invasion among groups of patients in terms of the type of disease recurrence. The prevalence of this factor was higher among breast cancer patients with a history of mastectomy and without a history of radiotherapy who presented to the hospital with regional recurrence than other types of recurrence, including systemic and local recurrence. Among the total number of patients with local, regional and systemic recurrence, 10 (10.7%), 23 (82.1%) and 6 (7.2%) had perineural invasion, respectively.en_US
