dc.description.abstractOne of the major public health problems in the global health care system is child abuse. According to statistics published by the World Health Organization, approximately one in four children is a victim of physical abuse during their lifetime.Given that knowledge and attitude in primary prevention, predicting and controlling behavior is very important and on the other hand, primary prevention is the lowest cost level of prevention in health care, it is necessary to evaluate the knowledge, attitude and practice of community health workers in child abuse. Methods and Materials: In this cross-sectional descriptive study, 445 health workers were selected from 30 health centers in Tabriz during three months and interviewed based on a questionnaire with high validity and reliability in the field of knowledge, attitude and performance was performed in the area of child abuse. Results were reported in frequency (percentage) as well as mean ± standard deviation. Results: Physicians and psychiatrists had higher mean knowledge and attitude (P = 0.02). But there was no significant difference between employees with clinical jobs and other employees in terms of knowledge and attitude.en_US
