Lung cancer is one of the most common cancers in the world and has the third highest prevalence among other cancers. Transcription factors, as the last member of the messenger pathways involved in cell cycle regulation and apoptosis, play a key role in the carcinogenic process of various types of malignancies. NFATc2 and PPAR γ are two transcription factors that have been shown to play a role in lung cancer in previous studies. In this regard, in the present study, the change in the level of relative expression of these genes during carcinogenesis was analyzed and the relationship between the relative expression of these genes and clinical and pathological information of patients was also investigated. Methods: During the surgical procedure of lung cancer patients, a collection of 40 tumor tissues and normal marginal tissue were collected. After total RNA extraction, real-time PCR was used to measure changes in the expression of NFATc2 and PPAR γ genes. The difference in the level of mRNA expression of these genes as well as the relationship with the clinical and pathological characteristics of patients were investigated by appropriate statistical tests. In statistical tests, Pvalue <0.05 was considered significant. Results: The relative expression level of NFATc2 gene in tumor tissues decreased compared to healthy marginal tissues (Pvalue = 0.0011). The relative expression level of PPAR γ gene also decreased in tumor tissues compared to healthy tissue, and this reduction was significant within the specified confidence interval. [0001 / 0Pvalue <]. There was no significant relationship between changes in NFATc2 and PPAR γ gene expression and clinical and pathological features of patients (Pvalue˃ 0.05).en_US
