Child abuse has been identified as a major public health problem in the global health care system. Parents' beliefs about whether disciplining a child lead to positive or negative outcomes are important. This study was conducted because despite numerous reports of child abuse, especially in our society, the risk factors for physical and emotional child abuse have rarely been investigated. Methods and Materials: In this cross-sectional descriptive study, 390 clients were selected from ten health centers in Tabriz twice a week for one month and twice a week. The age of the interview was based on a questionnaire with high validity and reliability in the field of knowledge, attitude and practice in the field of child abuse. Results were reported in frequency (percentage) as well as mean ± standard deviation. Results: Women and families with two children had higher mean knowledge and attitude. Also, in many aspects of knowledge, attitude and practice, there was a significant positive relationship between education level and average knowledge and attitude towards child abuseen_US
