dc.description.abstractthis paper aims to evaluate a factor related to marginal bone loss around implants. This paper aims to evaluate the evidence surrounding this topic by examining patients treated with fixed implant-supported partial bridges in Tabriz Dental Faculty from 2015 to 2018. Sample size was calculated via Analytical methods and the number of at least 25 patients for each group was determined. A total of 73 patients accepted the recall to join the study after appliance of inclusion and exclusion criteria and were examined at Fixed Prosthodontics Ward in Tabriz Dental Faculty while submitting the extracted data to each patient’s file. Radiographies were taken using the Parallel Periapical technique in the Radiology Ward and were compared with initial radiographs to obtain amount of marginal bone loss. Patients were divided to two groups of Overload and non-Overload based on the data extracted from their examinations. Marginal bone loss was compared between two groups by an analyst using SPSS 17. The distribution of data determined abnormal using Kolmogorov–Smirnov test so Mann-Whitney U test was performed to compare marginal bone loss in two groups. Based on the analysis the difference between the two groups of Overload and non-Overload was not statistically different. Despite the results of this study, it is recommended next studies be performed with bigger sample size and more specific definition of occlusal overloading.en_US
