Introduction: Alzheimer's disease leads to the gradual loss of behavioral memory, function and learning abilities. A number of studies have shown that injecting angiotensin II into the hippocampus causes memory impairment by activating AT1 & 2 receptors. Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of co-administration of enalapril and donepezil on hyoscine-induced memory impairment and oxidative stress parameters in male rats by passive avoidance test. Methods: The number of animals studied was 36 which were randomly divided into 6 groups of 6. Intraperitoneal injection of hyoscine at a dose of 0.5 mg per kg for 5 days was used to create a model for forgetfulness (Alzheimer's). To evaluate the effect of enalapril and donepezil on hyoscine-induced memory impairment, enalapril in three doses of 2, 1 and 0.5 mg / kg and donepezil 0.1 mg / kg for 5 days with hyoscine injection. The shuttle box is used to check learning and memory by passive avoidance method. Results: Data from the passive avoidance test on the shuttle box in animals in the enalapril-treated groups with donepezil compared with the hyoscine group alone showed that memory and learning-related parameters improved significantly. Conclusion: The results showed that enalapril together with donepezil was able to significantly reduce the cognitive impairment caused by hyoscine in a dose-dependent manner (up to one mg / kg enalapril). Concomitant use of donepezil with enalapril has significantly improved memory impairment compared with donepezil alone.en_US
