Angiogenesis efficacy in solid tumors and hematological malignancies has been identified for more than twenty years. Although the exact role of angiogenesis in leukemia as a common hematological malignancy has not yet been extensively studied, its effect is demonstrated on the initiation and maintenance of favorable microenvironment for leukemia cell proliferation. The angiopoietin family is one of the defined molecular mediators for angiogenesis, which contributes to vascular permeability and angiogenesis initiation. They participate in the angiogenesis process by binding to tyrosine kinase receptors (Tie) on endothelial cells. Methods: In the present investigation, we aimed to quantify the expression level of the Ang-Tie system in ALL patients and control samples. Results: Ang1, Ang2, Tie1 and Tie2 expression levels were significantly changed in ALL patients in comparison with control samples with P.value = 0.0165, <0.0001,0.0014,0.0001 respectively. On the other hand, no significant differences were found in the Ang4 expression level between two sets of samples (P.value = 0.09).en_US
