Introduction: Venous thromboembolic disorders (VTE) are the third most common cardiovascular disease and are associated with significant disease burden. For over 5 decades, vitamin K antagonists have been the standard anticoagulants for the treatment of thromboembolism Rivaroxaban can be a good alternative to classical anticoagulants at the beginning of treatment and management of patients with venous thromboembolism. This drug has an excellent dose-response curve and its drug interactions are limited and has no interaction with food. As a result, there is no need for regular monitoring of the drug’s effects, and patients can be treated with a fixed dose of the drug. However, rivaroxaban has several side effects that may cause problems for outpatients. Therefore, we decided to evaluate the side effects of rivaroxaban in outpatients with a history of thromboembolism. Objective: To evaluate the side effects of rivaroxaban in patients with a history of thromboembolism Methods: In a prospective cross-sectional descriptive study, we studied the side effects of rivaroxaban in 150 patients with a history of thromboembolism for 6 months. All patient information and observed side effects of rivaroxaban were completed in the relevant questionnaire. The probability of complications was measured based on the Naranjo Questionnaire and the severity of complications was measured according to WHO criteria. Results: In our study population, dizziness was observed more than other studies and no serious bleeding and more than three times increase in liver enzymes was observed. Conclusion:According to this study, the incidence and number of side effects of rivaroxaban are related to gender, age and number of drugs used.en_US
