dc.description.abstractAbstract Introduction: Cardiopulmonary resuscitation is the one of the most important procedures in which several professions work together as a team. The aim of this study was to evaluate the attiudes and performance of CPR team members towards teamworking during resuscitation in the emergency departments of Tabriz training hospitals. Method: This research is a cross-sectional descriptive study that was conducted from October to January 2019 in the emergency departments of Tabriz hospitals with the participation of nurses and physicians. Random sampling was done and the sample size were 147 and 126 nurses and physicians, respectively. The research tool was T-TAQ and MAYO questionnaires for assessing attiudes and performance of CPR team members regarding teamwork. The collected data was analyzed using SPSS 20 software. Results: The results showed that in the nurses group the mean attitude was 120.98 9 9.23 and in the physicians group the mean attitude score was 119.95 9 9.29. Due to the fact that the mean scores of both groups are greater than the theoretical mean (90), so the general attitude of nurses and physicians in emergency departments towards teamwork was agreeable (P = 0.001). The mean performance score of the resuscitation team was 46.14 49 2.49 in the nurses group and 46.48 2 2.14 in the physicians group and was higher than the theoretical average (32); Therefore, the performance of nurses and physicians of the resuscitation team in relation to teamwork during resuscitation was evaluated at the desired level (P = 0.001). Linear regression showed that in the study of nurses' attitudes, except for the number of times they participated in cardiac resuscitation (p = 0.022), none of the demographic variables had a significant effect on attitudes (p <0.05). In examining the nurses' performance and attitudes of physicians, none of the demographic variables have a significant effect on their performance and attitude. In physicians, except for emergency history (p = 0.001), none of the demographic variables has a significant effect on performance. Discussion: In this study, the attitude and performance of emergency nurses and physicians towards teamwork was favorable and desirable. Considering that in emergency situations such as CPR, communication and coordination of resuscitation team members plays an important role in the outcome of the operation, it can be concluded that promoting and encouraging a positive attitude and performance towards teamwork, team training and mental preparation for teamwork. In the CPR team members, it can be a valuable and low-cost solution to increase the work efficiency and ultimately improve the quality of patient care.en_US
