Pain Management in Traumatic Patients Referring to Emergency Department of Imam Reza Hospital, Tabriz-2018

Abstract

Trauma is the leading cause of mortality and disability in developed and developing countries. It is estimated that 10% of the world's deaths are due to trauma, 90% of which occur in developing countries. materials and methods: The present study is a cross-sectional descriptive-analytical research. The study population was all trauma patients in Imam Reza Hospital in Tabriz in 1397. In this study, all eligible patients who had referred to the emergency department of Imam Reza Hospital in the first 3 months of 1397 were included in the study. The sample size was calculated according to the admission rate of trauma patients in one year in Imam Reza Hospital (40,000 people) using the Morgan table of 380 people, which was considered 385 patients with the possibility of dropping samples. Results: In this study, 385 patients referred to the emergency department of Imam Reza Hospital in Tabriz were examined according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. 298 patients (77.4%) were male and 87 patients (22.6%) were female. The mean age of participants in this study was 35.41 years.
