Preparation and evaluation of coenzyme Q10 loaded mixed micelles and evaluation of physicochemical properties
Abstract
Introduction:. Coenzyme Q10 (Co Q10) is an antioxidant used in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases and disorders such as angina, high blood pressure and congestion and heart failure. It has a positive effect on migraine headaches and neurological diseases such as Parkinsonism. It is also being studied as a treatment for cancer and getting rid of it. It is one of the drugs whose solubility in solid form is very low and our goal of this project is to increase the solubility of this substance by preparing mixed micelles.
Objective: Preparation and evaluation of mixed micelles containing coenzyme Q10 and evaluation of physicochemical properties
Methods: Prepare blank micelles and micelles containing coenzyme Q10: To do this, variable amounts of Myrj52 and Brij35 are used as surfactants and also pure powder of coenzyme Q10 at 60 degrees using a Heater Stirrer.
Particle size and particle size distribution of mixed micelles in phosphate buffer are measured by DLS method. We also study the morphology of the particles using a passing electron microscope.
Determination of critical micelle formation concentration (CMC) by measuring the surface tensile strength of prepared micelles
Results: According to statistical calculations between formulations, the best solution is F45 formulation which is prepared using 50% glycerol mono stearate and 50% w / w mixture of Brij and Mirj for surfactant and 60 mg Q10 as active ingredient. Was, had. Analysis of this formulation by FTIR showed that in this formulation there is no interaction between the drug and the carrier.
Conclusion: A mixture of surfactants could significantly increase drug solubility. However, more studies are needed to provide better stability.
