Introduction: Phenobarbital is a group of barbiturates commonly used as anticonvulsants with the GABA neurotransmitter enhancement mechanism. Due to the importance of Therapeutic Drug Monitoring (TDM) of phenobarbital in people taking this drug, controlling the therapeutic concentration of the drug is highly recommended for this drug. Providing an easy, fast and cheap method for TDM is always a challenge. Aim of study: In this study, a fluorimetric method based on molecular mold polymer (MIP @ N-CDs) for phenobarbital deposition in frozen exhaled air collected by mechanical ventilator (MVEBC) was reported. Materials and Methods: The study is an experimental science study. A standard solution of phenobarbital at a concentration of 1000 mg / ml was prepared by dissolving the appropriate amount of this drug in methanol and diluted solutions were prepared for daily use. The quantum dot was synthesized based on a method reported in the 2018 study by Wang et al Results: This method has a linear relationship with phenobarbital concentration in the range of .8-0.01 mg / l with relative standard deviation> 2.0%. The current method for quantifying phenobarbital is used in MVEBC of preterm infants receiving phenobarbital under mechanical ventilator. Discussion: In the molecular mold polymer method, a functional monomer complex with a self-aggregating pattern was polymerized with a cross-linking agent and a primer. Molecular mold sites that can detect pattern molecules and structural analogues related to shape and function can be easily molded into polymerized materials after template removal. The obtained MIPs have been used for sensing as molecular identification elements.en_US
