dc.description.abstract | survival rate of victims of cardiac arrest has not changed much during recent years despite of significant advances. So finding factor which is a reliable indicator of consequence and future of the patient could help in determining the type and procedure of proper treatment in favor of higher advantage for the patient. In this study it has been tried to investigate D-Dimer level of patients with cardiac arrest its association with short term and long term survival of these patients.
Methods: In this analytical-sectional study patients with cardiac arrest in non-traumatic emergency of Imam Reza (Tabriz-Iran) Educational Health Center during one year (2013-2014) were included. Venous blood sample was get from all patients on admission to investigate laboratory paramenters and for D-Dimer level placement. Brain function of the patients was assessed and registered in different stages based on Cereval Performance Category Scale. Then they were analyzed. In this study P value lower than 0.05 was statistically set as significant.
Results: Of 100 studied patients 71 patients (71%) were male and 29 patients (29%) were female with mean age of 66.07±1.57 years. After primary cardiopulmonary resuscitation, 28 patients during first 24 houts, 72 patients during hospitalization and 84 patients during 30 days were expired; so overall survival was 16 percent.
