dc.description.abstractcause mortality. There was also an inverse relationship between Provegetarian healthy plant-based, Pesco-vegetarian, and all-cause mortality diets. In our meta-analysis study, adherence to a vegetarian diet reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease mortality. Our study failed to show a significant association between plant-based diets and the risk of mortality from total cancer and types of cancer. As there were certain limitations in some of the studies included in this systematic review and meta-analysis, further research is necessary to confirm our findings.
