Nocturia is the phenomenon of waking up more than once a night to urinate. The causes of this phenomenon are classified into two categories: upper urinary tract and lower urinary tract. Nocturia can lead to chronic sleep disorders, which in turn can have negative effects on patients' quality of life and general health. In addition, the aim of the present study was to determine the association between the incidence of limb and pelvic fractures in the elderly and nocturia. Materials and Methods: In this cross-sectional study, a checklist including demographic information or demographic characteristics, anthropometric information or physical characteristics of individuals, level of education, duration of night sleep (sleep time), comorbid internal diseases (hypertension, diabetes) Mellitus, hyperlipidemia, cardiovascular disease), history of alcohol and smoking, history of medication (internal medicine and prostate disease), mechanism of fracture, time of fracture, history of fracture, etc. After asking the patient and completing the checklist, the type and number of fractures are extracted from the information in their file. The ICIQ-MLUTS (International Consultation on Incontinence Questionnaire Male Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms Module) and ICIQ-FLUTS (International Consultation on Incontinence Questionnaire Female Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms Module) werw used to assess the prevalence of urinary symptoms in patients is completed. Results: In this cross-sectional study, 357 patients who were older than 60 years and had fractured limbs and pelvis and referred to Shohada Hospital in Tabriz were included in the study. The mean age of the patients was 75.36±9.57 years and 72% of the patients were female. The highest frequency of fractures was related to the femoral neck (67.8%) and then the pelvis (15.7%). The most common cause of fractures was going to the toilet at night. The frequency of nocturia in the studied patients was 234 cases (65.5%) with an average duration of 3.78 years. The mean duration of useful sleep per night in the studied patients was 6.34±1.36 hours with a median of 6 hours. It was significantly observed that the most common cause of fracture in patients with nocturia was waking up at night to go to the toilet (50.4%). It was also significantly observed that in 14.5% of patients with nocturia, dizziness led to fractures; There was no case of dizziness in the healthy group.en_US
