dc.description.abstractKeenbach's disease is avascular necrosis of the wrist's bone, and if left untreated, the bone tends to collapse, shorten the wrist, and cause arthrosis of the wrist joint. To treat this problem, surgeries have been suggested, including shortening the radius bone or lifting the ulna. But the most important point in this disease is that these surgeries are often associated with many complications. Despite various studies, the choice of appropriate treatment for surgeons is still debated. Examining the results of treatment can be useful for a more appropriate choice. Therefore, during this study, we decided to evaluate the results of radiotherapy shortening technique in Keenbach disease in terms of reducing pain and increasing the range of motion of the wrist. Materials and Methods: In this study, which was performed as a prospective cohort study, all patients with Keinbach's disease referred to Tabriz Martyrs Hospital Center from April 2017 to November 2017 and underwent radius bone shortening. they started studying. After obtaining the consent, simple graphs of the wrist in the form of real face and profile and MRI of the patient to determine the stage of the disease will be extracted from the file and the stage of the disease will be determined by Lichtman method. Pain intensity was recorded using VAS and range of motion of the wrist (including range of flexion, straightening, ulna deviation, radius deviation, supination, and pronation) for preoperative and postoperative patients. Patients were also evaluated for pain intensity and range of motion at intervals of six months, one year and two years Results: The results of pain intensity and hand strength in patients were positively associated with improvement, while range of motion (flexion, extension, supination, pronation) was moderately improved; It should be noted that in two patients the results did not improve in any of the variables.en_US
