Abstract
Chronic Renal Failure (CRF) is progressive reduction in renal functions. This condition requires serum analysis to diagnosis, monitor therapeutic out comes and prognosis. Saliva analysis as an alternative to serum has many advantages. The aim of this study was evaluation of prognostic value the renal failure biochemical parameters concentration in the saliva. Materials and methods: In this cross sectional study 40 CRF patients according the study criteria was selected. Blood and saliva samples were collected immediately before hemodialysis. Serum and salivary markers level was analyzed by biochemical methods. Statistical analysis was assessed by spss software. The serum and salivary marker levels and correlation between serum and salivary markers were compared by t-test Pearson/ Spearman's rho correlation respectively. Results: Among the biochemical parameters of saliva and serum (urea, creatinine, calcium, phosphorus and alkaline phosphatase), only there is a significant relationship between urea and creatinine in saliva and blood sample in CRF patients same as normal patients' sample.
