dc.description.abstractGrowingly side effects of repetitive blood transfusion, impose extortionate costs for recipients and on health system. So, it seems that this is exact time for more efficient measures such as “Patients’ Blood Management (PBM)”. So, this study was aimed to improve current platforms of blood transfusion in one of the hematology and oncology clinics in Iran. Material and Methods: In this cross-sectional descriptive study, 450 hospitalized patients receiving blood products were included, undertaken within one of the metropolitan tertiary hospital. Demographic information, laboratory tests, and an electronic investigation on received blood products were registered and bio-statistically analyzed by SPSS software. Results: 210 patients were female. Mean of age group was 49.5 years old. 10246 units of blood products were recruited that only 13.8% of blood products were Red Blood Cells. Mean of age and hospitalization days in recipients were 40-70 years, and 17 days, respectively. The average of received blood products were reported 2, 4, and 20 units for, RBC, plasma, and platelets, respectively. The most frequently blood products recipients were with hematologic disorders. C/T ratio was calculated one.en_US
