The purpose of this systematic study is to collect the effects, disadvantages and advantages of dexmedetomidine for procedures in the emergency department. Materials and Methods: After determining the keywords, the search was performed in two ways using the keywords Mesh and free in the databases PubMed, Embase, Ovid, ProQuest, Scopus, Web of science, Cochrane library from 1999 to January 30, 2020. The articles and documents obtained from the search were screened in several stages in terms of title and abstract and the whole text, and the final studies that met the inclusion criteria were included in the statistical community. Data tables were compiled and the results were collected. Results: After searching, 473 articles were obtained. After removing duplicate and irrelevant articles, 5 articles were selected considering the inclusion and exclusion criteria. No significant side effects have been reported with dexmedetomidine in any of the studies. Both studies reported a significant chance of failure in PS. This systematic review shows that dexmedetomidine is a safe option for PS in ED in three methods: intravenous, intramuscular or intranasal, and has a satisfactory efficacy.en_US
