Septic arthritis There is an infection in the joint that may involve any joint. The leukocyte esterase is an enzyme that is secreted from activated neutrophils located in the site of infection. The sensitivity and specificity of the LE strip in two A group of patients receiving antibiotics and not receiving antibiotics compares the results. Materials and Methods This study, in a descriptive-analytical study included 105 subjects. we examined 50 joints in one year with clinical suspicion of infectious arthritis and ESR, CRP (based on kocher criteria) in Shohada Hospital. The history of antibiotic usage was recorded from patients hospital records.. Synovial fluid aspiration performed using dermal standardized method under sterile conditions. Results there was a significant difference between the two groups in terms of SyWBC, SWBC and PMN%, serum glucose and synovial glucose and ESR and CRP as well as TOA (Table 1-P-Value <0.05). There was also a significant difference between the two groups in the GT, BC, GS, SC, and also in the end-result (UDSA) (P-value <0.05). Comparing the final results of diagnosis of patients and positive negativity compared to the final results of diagnosis of patients and the positive overall negative negativity of the LET test, the sensitivity and specificity and the positive predictive value and negative predictive value were 84.38%, 90.24%, 93.10% and 78.72% respectively . Comparing the final results of diagnosis of patients and positive-negative test results, in group 1, sensitivity, specificity and positive predictive value were 100%, 00% and 96.55%, respectively. Comparing the final results of diagnosis of patients and the positive-negative test results, in group 2, sensitivity and specificity and positive predictive value and negative predictive value were 72.22%, 92.50%, 89.66% and 78.72%, respectively.en_US
