dc.description.abstractThe aim of this study was to Nutritional literacy of subjects referring to nutrition and diet therapy clinics affliated to Tabriz University of Medical Sciences and its determinants in 2020-2021. Materials and Methods: In this cross-sectional descriptive study, 300 people were studied. Data were collected using a demographic questionnaire and a translated nutrition literacy questionnaire. After settling in the Sheikh Al-Rais Nutrition and Diet Clinic, the questioner presented a questionnaire to the clients who met the study conditions. To determine nutritional literacy in this study, a standardized nutrition literacy questionnaire called Nutritional Literacy Assessment Tool in Adults was used. Evaluation Instrument of Nutrition Literacy on Adults - EINLA. This tool includes 35 items related to nutrition literacy information and in five sections: general information and nutritional basis of ten items, reading skills and comprehension of six items, information of food items of ten items, information of food units of three items, computational literacy and Reading food labels is six items. Results: The mean age of participants in this study was 36.54±14.13 years, of which 170 (56.7%) were women and 130 (43.3%) were men. The average level of nutritional literacy was 24.74 ± 2.11. 77.3% of the participants had sufficient nutritional literacy and the others had insufficient nutritional literacy. According to the results of the present study, there was no significant relationship between nutritional literacy and place of residence, marital status, BMI, body weight, school years, and gender. There was a significant relationship between income and nutritional literacy.en_US
