dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this study was to investigate the knowledge, attitude and practice of students of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences about the prevention and control of diabetes in 2020-2021.
Method and materials:
This study is a descriptive study and has been done cross-sectionally. The target population is all students of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences. 307 students of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences were randomly and categorized with a specific ratio from different fields including medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, etc. Data were collected using a questionnaire. The questionnaire used consisted of three parts: knowledge (21 questions), attitude (10 questions) and performance (28 questions). According to the number of students in each field, a certain number of questionnaires were assigned to them. The response rate was 94.13% (289 out of 307). The study data were subjected to descriptive statistical analysis in SPSS-25 software.
Result:
289 students of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences (94.13%) with a mean age of 24.06 1 1.43 years Questionnaires answered. In the field of knowledge questions, 31.83% had a poor score, 47.75% had a moderate score and 20.42% had a good score. The mean score of students' attitude was 13.18 ± 1.7 (out of 20). Regarding performance questions, 26.29% 2.17% of students had a regular exercise program during the week, 39.79 ± 5.16% of students measured their weight during the last year, 26.64 ± 2.11% of students Were tested for blood lipids, 32.87 14 1.14% of students were tested for blood pressure.
