The Effect Of Educational Video By Pediatric Dentistry For Pulpotomy Skill Improvement Of Dentistry Students Of Tabriz University of Medical sciences Before First Clinical Treatment

Abstract

Introduction: Education in the field of medical sciences is an important process in which practical skills are an important part. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of educational video on performing palpitomy skills in improving the palpitomial skills of deciduous molars of dental students of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences in the first clinical treatment. Methods and Materials: In this quasi-experimental study, all students studying dentistry at Tabriz University of Medical Sciences who had a two-practice pediatric unit and the first session of pulpotomy clinical treatment and had previously passed pulpotomy training courses as a prerequisite unit were included in the study. Based on the total grade point average, they were matched and divided into two groups of experimental (n = 44) and control (n = 35). Was analyzed using independent t-test. In the control group after the demonstration and in the experimental group after the demonstration and the training video, palptomy skills were performed. Independent t-test was used to compare the DOPS score between the two groups. SPSSV24 software was used to analyze the data. A probability value less than 0.05 was considered as a significant level. Results: The results showed that there was no significant difference in the score of practical children 1 and the score of admission to the control and experimental groups (P> 0.05), and DOPS scores of pulpotomy skills of the control group after demonstration (94 2 2.48). / 15) is less than the experimental group after demonstration and the use of educational film (17.84 82 1.82) and the difference was statistically significant (P = 0.0001) Conclusion: By controlling the scores of the intervening variables, the use of educational video film has been able to increase the DOPS scores of students' pulpotomy skills.
