dc.description.abstractTrauma is the leading cause of death and disability in children and its prevalence is increasing. Due to the importance of trauma in our country, the researcher decided to evaluate the diagnostic and therapeutic measures and its related consequences in children under the age of two with a head injury referred to the emergency department. Imam Reza Hospital in Tabriz. Methods: In this retrospective descriptive study, the cases of children under 2 years of age with head trauma who referred to the emergency department of Imam Reza Hospital from April 1, 2016 to the end of March 2017 were examined in full. The checklist includes two parts: demographic information (age, sex, etc.) and disease information including (type of treatment, diagnosis, imaging findings, tests, treatment, including fluid therapy, etc.). Finally, after collecting the data, they entered the SPSS software version 20 and were analyzed. Results: 62% of infants were male and 38% (38) were female. 70% (70 people) of children were injured due to falls from heights. For 20% of infants, 5% dextrose fluid therapy, 36% normal fluid saline therapy, and 8% serum 1.3 2.3 fluid therapy. Also, 59 patients underwent surgical counseling, 22 (22%) had intubation. For 26 patients (26%), a urinary catheter was implanted. Stomach catheterization was performed for 15% of patients. 18 patients (18%) underwent ABG test. 63 patients (63%) were admitted to the emergency department and 37 patients (37%) were treated and discharged on an outpatient basis. Also, 13 patients (13%) were admitted to the ICU. There was a statistically significant relationship between the patient's death and gender. There was no statistically significant relationship between the patient's death and the cause of injury. There was a statistically significant relationship between patient death and ABG test, X-ray, NG use, urinary catheter use, intubation, and fluid therapy.en_US
