dc.description.abstractThe aim of this study was to link traumatic head and face injuries to cervical spine injuries. Materials and Methods: In this retrospective study, all patients who referred to Imam Reza Hospital Trauma Center and were treated between 2013 and 2018 were included in the study by reviewing the patients' medical records. The required information was collected by reviewing the files in the archive during the mentioned years. The checklists were completed using demographic information including age, sex, cause of trauma, and the type and location of trauma and fracture based on experts' opinions and available graphics including photos. Simple, CT scan, MRI, documentation of neurosurgery consultations, maxillofacial surgery were examined. After completing the checklist, data were extracted according to age, sex, cause of injury, type of injury and location of trauma, state of consciousness when entering the emergency room. Results: In this study, 185 patients related to head and facial fractures were examined, of which 160 patients had cervical fractures. cervical fractures with various factors were examined. According to the results, 86.4% of patients who had head and face fractures together also showed cervical fractures. In this study, the highest range of age in patients was in the age range of 21-30 years. Also, in this study, 73.5% of patients were male. 64.3% of patients were due to vehicle-related accidents and according to the results, no correlation was found between the pattern of facial fracture and neck injury. Also, in the pattern of head fracture, only basilar fracture had a significant relationship with spinal cord injury.en_US
