Comparison of Outcome of Ovulation Stimulation Using Two Methods of Standard Hemoglobin Gonadotropin Hormone and Combination with Gonadotropin Releasing Hormone in Antagonist Cycles

Abstract

The goal of ovulation stimulation protocols is to grow several follicles at the same time and obtain several oocytes and, consequently, several embryos so that embryos of good quality can be transferred or frozen for subsequent cycles. Materials and Methods, 100 infertile women referred to the infertility clinic of Al-Zahra Hospital in Tabriz from June 2009 to September 2009 who were candidates for IVF for various reasons were included in this study. Candidates were randomly divided into two groups and one group was given ten thousand hCG units and the other group 0.2 micrograms GnRH and 1500 hCG units. Finally, various parameters including number of eggs, number of live embryos, fertility rate and the incidence of OHSS in the two groups were evaluated and compared. Results, The results of the study of patients in both groups showed that in the group receiving placental gonadotropin hormone in standard dose in combination with gonadotropin-releasing hormone stimulating ovaries, implantation rate and pregnancy rate higher than the group receiving placental gonadotropin hormone in standard dose. The differences were significant with P values of P = 0.024 ٬ P = 0.001 and P = 0.001, respectively.
