The aim of this study was to determine the susceptibility of the resistant gram negative bacilli isolated from urinary tract infection to fosfomycin and tigecycline. Materials and Methods: This descriptive cross-sectional study was performed on gram negative bacilli isolated from urine specimens send for culture and antibiotic susceptibility assay in division of microbiology, Sina Hospital, Tabriz, Iran, during 6 months from April to September 2017. Results of antibiotic susceptibility was evaluated according to the CLSI criteria and 150 resistant isolates were included in this study. Susceptibility of these isolates towards fosfomycin and tigecycline was assessed. Results: According to the results, 92% (138 cases) of the resistant isolates were sensitive and 1.3% (2 cases) were resistant to both antibiotics (fosfomycin and tigecycline), confirmed by laboratory methods (disk diffusion and E-test). The difference was statistically significant (p = 0.001). Around 93.3% (140 cases) of the resistant isolates were found sensitive and 5.3% (8 cases) resistant to fosfomycin only. On the other hand, 96% (144 cases) of the resistant isolates, were found sensitive and 1.3% (2 cases) resistant to tigecycline alone.en_US
