dc.description.abstractAbstract: Introduction: Prognosis disclosure is one the heaviest issues in the care of patients with cancer. Real impact of cancer disclosure on mental and psychological condition of cancer patients is not clear, so the aim of this study is to understand the prognosis perception and its relationship, spiritual wellbeing and self –efficacy in cancer patients. Methods and Materials: This research involves descriptive –correlative design and conducted in 2012. The research sample included 200 patients who were aware of their cancer diagnosis. These patients were selected by eligible sampling method. Using Herth Hope Index, Pallutzian & Ellison Spiritual wellbeing scale 1982, Merrluzi & Martinez Self –efficacy scale 1997, the patients hope, spiritual wellbeing and self –efficacy was investigated. Data analyzing was conducted by SPSS statistics software using descriptive and inferential statistics. Results: Results showed that participants in this study knew their prognosis suited (11 from 15). It also has a high level of hope in patients (38 from 48), spiritual health of patients was high (99 from 120) and also Level of self –efficacy in patients was high (235/57 from 297). Positive and statistically significant relationship between the perception of the prognosis with hope, spiritual wellbeing and self –efficacy was found. Discussion & Conclusion: The results showed that the actual disclosure of cancer can decrease the level of hope, spiritual wellbeing and self –efficacy in patients with cancer. So this study can be a guide for doctors, nurses, healthcare team personnel disclosed in the prognosis disclosure to Iranian patients with cancer.en_US
