dc.description.abstractAbstract: Introduction: Due to the fact that progress in neonatal care has improved survival in acute patients and premature infants, neonatal nurses need professional skills for care and should use all skills and techniques. Have sufficient knowledge of new care. On the other hand, education in various ways, in-person and in virtual networks, is agreed upon for adults. Therefore, the aim of this study was to compare the effect of education using two methods of CD and social network on the knowledge and practice of nurses in neonatal intensive care units in evaluating the behavior of premature infants. Method: The present quasi-experimental study was performed on 50 nurses in neonatal intensive care unit in four hospitals of Kermanshah. Data collection tools included demographic information and a questionnaire to determine the level of knowledge of nurses and a checklist to observe and record the behavior of premature infants to determine performance. The intervention was performed in two groups of CD and social network (for 15 days) and the data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics (independent t-test, paired t-test and analysis of covariance) in SPSS software version 24. Results: The knowledge and practice of nurses in NICU wards before the intervention did not show a statistically significant difference between the two groups of CD and social network (P = 0.71 and P = 0.094). Knowledge and practice of nurses after training showed a significant difference between the two groups (P <0.001 and P <0.001). Changes in nurses 'knowledge and practice showed significant differences between the two groups (P = 0.02 and P = 0.03). Both variables of nurses' knowledge and practice in the social network group increased more than the CD group. Conclusion: The use of mobile-based social network education in the field of infant care is an appropriate and accessible way that nurses can use and update their information. Considering the better effect of social network than CD in this study, the use of social networks can be an opportunity to improve the process of teaching and learning.en_US
