According to studies, the most common cause of death in patients with chronic kidney disease, including patients on dialysis, is cardiovascular disease; Therefore, due to the importance of timely intervention for lipid disorders to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease and increase the lifespan and prognosis of ESRD and disagreement of previous studies in this field and the lack of a similar study in the country, this study was aimed to determine and compare the prevalence of lipid disorders in ESRD patients undergoing hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis. Methods: After the research council of the internal group approved the proposal and the ethical code was obtained from the regional committee of ethics in research (studies of human subjects), the researcher referred to the archives of Imam Reza Hospital, the files of 150 patients undergoing hemodialysis and the files of 150 patients Who were undergoing peritoneal dialysis were randomly selected and collected the information required for the study by a pre-prepared data collection form and the information was entered into SPSS software after classification and appropriate statistical analysis was performed on them and in all statistical tests, a statistically significant level of 0.05 was considered. Results: The mean level of baseline cholesterol in the hemodialysis group was 160.67 ± 45.56 and in the peritoneal dialysis group was 190.04 ± 46.91 mg / dl and this difference was statistically significant (P <0.001). The mean level of baseline triglyceride in the hemodialysis group was 157.93 ± 87.90 and in the peritoneal dialysis group was 186.75 ± 10.63 mg / dl, which was statistically significant (P = 0.013). The mean level of baseline LDL in hemodialysis group was 91.58 ± 37.93 and in peritoneal dialysis group was 101.84 ± 34.41 mg / dl and this difference was statistically significant (P = 0.018). The mean level of baseline HDL in the hemodialysis group was 38.28 ± 13.35 and in the peritoneal dialysis group was 51.30 ± 21.39 mg / dL, which was also statistically significant (P <0.001).en_US
