Relationship between serum IgG and the severity of the pain in patient with oral erosive lichen planus

Abstract

Introduction: Oral lichen planus is a relatively common inflammatory disease that causes many complications, especially pain in patients, and it is necessary to identify the factors affecting it. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between serum IgG levels and pain intensity in patients with oral erosive lichen planus. Methods: This study was performed on 25 patients with oral lichen planus. Patient information was recorded and serum IgG levels and pain intensity were also recorded. Data were then compared based on Spearman and Mann-Whitney correlation tests. Results: The findings of the present study showed that the mean VAS was 4.56 and the mean serum IgG level was 17.34 g / l. There was no significant relationship between IgG level and pain in patients and no relationship with age and sex grouping. It still did not make sense. Conclusion: According to the obtained results, it can be proved that IgG level is not related to patients 'pain and can not play a role in the occurrence of patients' symptoms, especially pain. However, a closer look at the association of IgG with other symptoms requires further investigation in future studies.
