dc.description.abstractThe present study was designed and performed to evaluate the complications of balloon valvuloplasty in pregnant women with mitral valve stenosis and their offspring in comparison with women treated with drug therapy. Materials and methods: In the present study, data related to the case of pregnant women with mitral valve stenosis referred to Shahid Madani Hospital in Tabriz during 1996-1397 who underwent PTMC, and their children, as well as pregnant women who referred with a similar clinical picture and were diagnosed with valve stenosis. Mitrals that did not undergo PTMC and underwent drug therapy were evaluated and compared. The results of tests and examinations related to breast cancer, thyroid cancer and leukemia of mothers and children were collected and analyzed using appropriate statistical analysis and SPSS-26 software. Findings: Among 45 patients included in the study, 26 patients who underwent PTMC and 19 patients who underwent drug treatment were included. Examining of laboratory results and imagings of these two groups, no significant difference was found in the incidence of complications after treatment in mothers and their children. (P-Value> 0.05). Patients' function class in PTMC therapy have improved better than drug therapy.en_US
