Abstract: Introduction: Traumatic injuries are the most common cause of people mortality in 1-44 ages and it is the third cause of mortality in all ages. Among the traumatic injuries, TBI have the most percent of mortality and it makes severe bio –psycho –social disturbances. By passing the time and promotion in medicine, attempts have lead toward rehabilitation of this patients. Sensory stimulation specialty auditory stimulation is the most important treatment and in different researches, the effect of its on recovery of the patients have assessed. So in this research attempt to assess the effect of organized auditory stimulation on promotion of the TBI patient's level of consciousness. Method: This is a descriptive case study which includes 11 patients with TBI that hospitalized in Imam Khomeini hospital at 2007-2008. Each of the participants had been studied 3 times (basic, intervention, and follow up) in the course of two week. In intervention period auditory stimulation had been done on patients for 1 hour per day and at the end of each period electroencephalography had been performed and the GCS and homodynamic parameters daily had been assessed in them and finally the results were interpreted. Results: Despite increasing in the level of consciousness of the TBI patients, organized auditory stimulation has no positive effects on their GCS. Four of 11 patients have shown positive changes in their electroencephalography by receiving music. They got negative changes without receiving it. Electroencephalography of the most patients has got positive changes by passing the time without considering auditory stimulation, and it leads toward normal waves. In comparing different areas of brain, the temporal and occipital lobs were more affected by stimulation. The results showed that organized auditory stimulation has positive effects on homodynamic parameters. Discussion and Conclusion: The result showed that "by receiving organized auditory stimulation, electroencephalography waves have lead toward normal waves and homodynamic parameters have decreased". But it has no positive effects on GCS of the patients with TBI.en_US
