Abstract: Introduction: Anxiety have high prevalence in whole women's life especially in the postpartum period. Anxiety in the postpartum period has received less research attention, but is no less important due the potential impact on the developing mother's and infant's health. For this reason, programs to detect and reduction of postpartum anxiety are warranted. Aims: To investigate the effect of BC on anxiety reduction on postpartum. Methods & Materials: In this study, sampling from women who had study's criteria continues until obtaining desirable sample size (according pilot study); so thirty –one women were randomly assigned into routine hospital method and thirty –two into BC method. Data gathering was done by demographic characteristics of people questionnaire, EFDS, STAI, Enrich marital satisfaction, Social support and stress life events questionnaire in the prenatal period and with state anxiety inventory and check list of characteristics of neonate in one hour after delivery and before perinatal hospital discharge. Data were analyzed by using chi –square, t test and repeated measures ANOVA. Results: There were no significant differences between two groups due to intervention factors. The results observed a mean decrease in anxiety from the prenatal period to the postnatal period in both groups, but this reduction was higher in BC group and there was significant difference between two groups (f=0.008). Conclusion: BC have reductive effective on the postpartum state anxiety (especially one hours after delivery). Because BC have several benefits and can done in any places, this method suggested that done routinely in hospitals.en_US
