dc.description.abstractAbstract: Introduction: One of the serious health threats that has been considered by health organizations, law enforcement and social policy makers in recent years is the prevalence of high-risk behaviors among adolescents and young people. One of the most important high-risk behaviors in this period is smoking and obesity, which can lead to chronic diseases in adulthood. Therefore, understanding the nature, influence and impact of these risk factors is very important for promoting health behaviors. The most effective way to prevent this is to teach lifestyle changes, increase happiness, and deal with unhealthy behaviors at a young age. The aim of this study was to investigate the status of smoking and obesity among students of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences and the relationship between these two variables and happiness. Materials and Methods: This descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted in which 757 students from ten faculties affiliated to Tabriz University of Medical Sciences were selected by the available relative method and questionnaires on smoking status and happiness by person and online (after the outbreak of Corona Virus) Completed by them. To measure BMI, the weight and height of students who had completed the questionnaire were measured by the researcher and students who completed the questionnaire online were self-reported. Data were analyzed by SPSS statistical software (ver.24). Results: In the present study, 65.7% (497) students, non-smokers, 15.9% (120) students, smokers, 2.8% (21) students, inactive smokers, 7.1 Percent (54) students, active smokers, 0.3% (23) students, heavy smokers, 5.5% (42) students have quit smoking. Also 8.1% (61 people) BMI = 30. The average score of happiness in students from the achievable score of 174-29 is 111.71 with a standard deviation of 21.5. The mean score of happiness was significant in terms of smoking status (P-value )en_US
