dc.description.abstractAbstract: Background & Objectives: One of the unit aspect of delivery is happening of this physiologic phenomenon with pain and discomfort. In fact, delivery pain is the result of a mental and complex countermeasure operation of physical, psychological, environmental and protection factor, which can be different in various women. Being informed of the reasons of delivery pain can increase compatibility of women with pain and using pharmacological and non-pharmacological intervention for pain relief. Regarding to existence of few information on the delivery pain in Tabriz and differences in the reasons of other countries in this study, we tried to consider delivery pain and the effective factors on its perception in primiparas and multiparas women referring to educating center of Al –Zahra hospital in Tabriz. Methods and Materials: In this descriptive –analytical study a randomly sample of 600 primiparas and multiparas who delivered vaginally were interviewed. Data collected with Questionnaire and labor pain was measured with visual analogue scale of pain (VAS). Data were analyzed using SPSS13/Win and statistical tests of t –test Pearson's and Spearman's correlation and Regression analysis. Results: Primiparas had a mean score of pain (8.31±0.99) while multiparas had a mean score of pain (8.37±1.16) and the mean labor pain score showed no significant difference between two groups (p=0.632). linear regression analysis determine an significant relation with labor pain between the baby sex, birth weight, history of dysmenorrheal, duration of active and second phase of labor and environmental factors in primiparas. Also Linear regression analysis determine an significant relation with labor pain between parity, number of child, mode of delivery, baby sex, desirable baby sex for husband, pregnancy experience, history of dysmenorrheal, environmental factor, fear and anxiety of labor, midwife support in multiparas. Conclusion: The results show that physical and environmental factors in primiparas and physical, psychosocial, environmental and supportive factors in multiparas contribute to severity of labor pain. With improving these factors, it can result in more satisfaction in labor and delivery.en_US
