dc.description.abstractAbstract: Background: health has been known as the human’s fundamental right, but it is an individual responsibility. Obviously, the way that people live in the community, lifestyles and ways of people thinking have a special effect on their health. On the other hand, the critical thinking is a process that is used to achieve the most rational and most legitimate position in certain cases. Thus, aim of this study was to evaluate the disposition to critical thinking and its relation to health risk behaviors in Tabriz nurses, in 1392. Methods: through a systematic random sampling, 768 nurses were selected from the Tabriz teaching hospitals. Demographic data questionnaire, California critical thinking disposition inventory and lifestyle questionnaire was distributed among the samples. 501 questionnaires were collected and 483 questionnaires were analyzed. Results: The finding show that most nurses have a positive disposition to critical thinking, in terms of health behaviors, most nurses are at an acceptable range and there is a direct and significant relationship among the critical thinking disposition and health risk behaviors.(p<0/05). Conclusion: the results showed significant and positive relationship between critical thinking dispositions and health risk behaviors. It is hoped that the findings of this study ti the areas of health care, health promotion, nursing education and research studies.en_US
