dc.description.abstractAbstract: Background: Desirable sexual relationship between the couples is an effective factor in stability, happiness and health of family. One of the important reasons for sexual dysfunctions is marital difficulties. The objective of this research was phenomenological assessment of women's sexual experiences after childbirth. This study has been done for the first time in Iran. Method: This qualitative study was done by using of open and in –depth interviews along with verbal and non –verbal probing and purposive sampling. Voluntaries (20 new mothers) expressed their views about their sexual experiences after childbirth, all interviews were recorded and then manuscript and analyzed with Colaizzi Method. Findings: In this research 5 main themes has been excluded which each one included of several sub themes. Main themes include: Physical and Psychological changes, familial relationship, coping, changing of behaviors and views and explanation. Sub themes of these themes included: un-intendancy in men and women, failure to orgasm in men and women, fear, change in body image, concern, fatigue, dyspareunia. Effect of sexual problems on familial relationships and effect of familial relationships on sexual function. Confronting with each other, dis –adaptation with parenthood, tolerance and copying with problems just because of being a women. Change in behaviors and views of Men, effect of women's sexual problem on the man, swerving, divorce, and emotional divorce. Conclusion: There is no doubt, Identification and relief of women's undesirable sexual experiences in this period has crucial role in protection of family health and natural and intimate relationship, so attention should be paid to sexual health as a main part of health cares and by implementation of knowledgeable and skilled counselors we can identify and solve couple's problems and provide opportunity for physical and psychological health of Islamic population.en_US
