Aim: In his study we compared Glidescope using its original guide or magnet containing guide (self made new idea) in children for endotracheal intubation and to investigate if using magnet on the tip of guide could be a useful device for airway management. Methods: In a clinical trial study, 70 children scheduled for elective adenotonsilectomy were randomly assigned to two groups. The study was a two arm parallel group, single blind, randomized trial. In the first group after laryngoscopy with Glidescope, endotracheal tube (ETT) containing original guide is inserted in to the mouth and guided into the trachea. In the second group for guiding ETT we have used magnet on the tip of a flexible guide (self-made). We direct the tube with other large magnet externally. Hemodynamic parameters, O2 saturation, time of successful intubation, number of attempts for successful intubation and complication of both groups were compared. Results: : No statistically significant differences were observed in demographic data , primary systolic and diastolic blood pressures between two groups so two groups were comparable. There were no significant differences in hemodynamic variables mean value of intubation time between two groups.( (p>0.05). There were significant differences in the mean value of first time success rate between groups(p=.018) .Success rate for intubationen_US
