dc.description.abstractAbstract: One of the most import quality of care. Patient safety is important component of health care quality. World Health Organization (WHO) has considered the priority of immunity of patient as a general health concern in its goals. In order to improve quality and promote safety of patient, organizations should develop the culture of patient safety among their personnel along with different structural interventions. This study aims to determine the vision and performance of operation rooms personnel about the safety of patient in educational and medical centers related to Tabriz Medical Sciences University. Materials and method this is a descriptive-analytical study. Statistical sample includes ۹۵ personnel of operation rooms and ۲۶۹ patient under surgery in educational and medical centers related to Tabriz Medical Sciences University during ۲۰۱۳. Data gathering was done by Patient safety culture in hospital questionnaire (HSOPSC) and safe surgery checklist of WHO. Statistical analysis was done by SPSS ۱۳ and Chi-Square test, t-test and ANOVA were used for data analysis. Findings Findings of the study showed that among all ۱۲ dimensions of safety culture in study hospitals, dimensions teamwork in wards, organizational training/continuous improvement about safety, expectations and performance of wards supervisors for improving safety of the patient and feedback and communication about errors were in unsuitable position, respectively. There was also significant relationship between attitude of nurses toward safety culture of patient with their age, gender, employment, work experience and education (P<۰.۰۵). According to the findings of this research, in all three sections of WHO safe surgery checklist, safety was observed by operation room personnel; therefore, the performance of operation rooms regarding keeping safety of patient was good. Conclusion because most dimensions of Were in unsuitable position, respectively. There was also significant relationship between attitude of nurses toward safety culture of patient with their age, gender, employment, work experience and education (p<0.05). According to the findings of this research, in all three sections of WHO safe surgery checklist, safety was observed by operation room personnel; therefore the performance of operation room regarding keeping surety of patient was good. Conclusion: because most dimensions of patient safety culture was unsuitable from operating rooms personnel view; therefore, promoting the patient safety culture is a necessity for the managers of study hospitals necessary that besides setting goals in the strategic planning levee of hospitals, to institutionalize the culture of reporting errors without fear of punishment, learning from errors, designing suitable systems and safe care in hospitals and serious attention and support of top managers in health care systems.
