Quality of Prevention of Postpartum Hemorrhage in Mothers admitted to Tabriz Women's Midwifery Educational –Therapeutically Centers in 2002.

Abstract

Abstract: Introduction: Prevention and management of postpartum hemorrhage are very important aspects of maternity care. In this regards, proper cares in prevention of maternal complications such as postpartum hemorrhage can be have important role in reducing mortality rate. To access prevention standards of postpartum hemorrhage and at total to reach the important midwifery aims researcher decided to observe the quality of prevention cares of postpartum hemorrhage toward mothers admitted to educational therapeutically centers at AL- Zahra and Taleghani in 2002. Material and Methods: This is a descriptive study, in which the quality of prevention of postpartum hemorrhage in 150 mothers was investigated. Sampling methods was facilitate and for data gathering check –list and observation from were used. For data analysis descriptive statistics (frequencies, mean and standard deviation) were used. Results: The results of study showed that the rate of prevention of postpartum hemorrhage in labor, delivery and postpartum units was in order of (94%), (61.9%), (68.5%). Conclusion: With regard to the result of study and as a matters related to prevention of postpartum hemorrhage in maternity units should be observed in 100% cases, therefore, researcher recommended to increase knowledge, encouragement and motivation of midwives taking care of mothers.
